The hand fan is composed of totally nineteen pieces. After the design has been drawn on a special paper called chamois, each piece is cut out one by one and the geometrical patterns applied on it are carved out individually with a craft knife. Each piece is coated in 24-carat gold; the 16-layer roses and leaves cut out of pre-prepared papers and attached with one on top of the other are glued on the pieces. As the last process, on the natural-paper-coated base, each piece of the hand fan is placed one by one to complete the work.
